FARMERS from Teesdale and beyond tucked into a full English breakfast in aid of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) in County Durham on Tuesday last week.
The annual event at Sam Turner’s, in Piercebridge, attracted about 80 people.
Part of the fundraising activity included a raffle of donated prizes such as hampers and local free range eggs.
Event organiser Tim Sedgewick, of H&H Land and Property, said: “It is particularly important that these events are supported as the RABI is increasingly involved in the provision of support to working farmers over and above the retired farmers they have traditionally supported.
“It was an excellent morning and I would like to thank those for coming and also Sam Turners for a great breakfast.
“Thanks also to our sponsors for the day – McGarry & Co, Latimer Hinks, Allen Sykes Accountants, Ward Hadaway Law Firm, NFU Mutual Darlington and H&H Land and Property.
“We hope to have raised approximately £700 from the morning which is an incredible result. This rounds off a fantastic year for our County Durham committee and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work.”
