Cockfield family shines a light for Butterwick Hospice

Posted on December 17, 2016 by Unknown
A COCKFIELD family are bringing cheer to their village through their dazzling Christmas lights display while also raising cash for a hospice that helped them through a very difficult time.
Paul Hogg and his family have been putting on a festive display at their home in Front Street for the past three years to collect donations for Butterwick Hospice, which helped his terminally ill father.
Mr Hogg, a father of four, said: “We are raising money for the Butterwick Hospice who cared for my dad, Keith, over a number of years through his long battle with cancer, which he eventually lost in 2003.
“Butterwick also gave valuable support to his wife and my mam, Ann, through what was a very difficult time. Unfortunately Ann passed away in 2007 from heart failure.”
His father was 60 when he died. Last year the family secured more than £700 for the hospice through their display and with extra lights added this year, they are hoping to raise even more.
Mr Hogg’s wife, Nicola, said: “It is not only people in the village who give money, it is also
people who knew Paul’s parents.”
People who would like to contribute can place cash in a donations box at the couple’s couples home or they can visit virginmoneygiving.com/someonespecial/keith.lights.
